One of Our Hero's

Ssg.  Michael McNaughton

President George Bush visited McNaughton and four other injured soldiers at Walter Reed Army Medical Center on Jan. 17, 2003.   The president declared McNaughton a hero and praised his courage. McNaughton, who had served in the military in such hot spots as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Bosnia more than a decade ago, enlisted in the National Guard after the 2001 terrorist attacks, telling a reporter that "I just decided I needed to do something."

 The thumbnail on the left is an autographed picture that Michael sent to me.  A mutual friend named Kevin Carroll, who has assisted in his rehabilitation hand delivered this picture to me in November 2004.
